Dublin Core For Collections element discussion
-It was agreed that we will request Tim for some examples of collection level dublin core records.
-Kelly and Bill pointed out that Provenance may be too important to leave out, particularly digital provenance.
Bill commented that if dublin core feels restrictive to the collection curator, then they can do MARC or whatever
and we can map the DC elements on that encoding scheme.
Amit pointed out that for the PROXY calls we will expect certain attributes to be present.
-It was decided that we will look for existing metadata records for NCF,Wright,EDC,EAF and docsouth. Kelly
with the help of Sara and Tanya (Amit will introduce them) will work on creatng such records.
-It was also decided that we create DC records for sub collection, it is however uncertain if we want to create
METS records for the subcollections.
Bill asked "who will be the consumer of the METS records?"
Amit replied: Consumers will be at multiple levels -datastore for structmap and filedesc; -interface widgets
for behaviour; -users for searching and selecting collections
Classification Scheme
-Discussion was postponed, we felt the need for Tim's expertise in this effort.
Formalize the chunk levels across the collection.
The chunk levels need to be formalized for analytics; Navigation and search remain unaffected by this.
We agreed that this requirement should be brought in-front of the analytics folks, it is them and the interface
folks (in Amit's opinion) who will decide about the chunk types.
Amit pointed out that chunk types are required to display the results of analysis.
