Location
Hornbake Library - South Wing (i.e. enter from the side next to the road)
Room 2119
University of Maryland College Park
(This is next to the new HCIL space but there is still no HCIL signs at the entrance of the building)
Map of the building/campus: http://www.cs.umd.edu/hcil/contact/parking.shtml. For orientation: The UMUC Marriott is the building at the top most of the map (which is west!). The Quality Inn is outside the bottom left of the map on Rt 1.
We'll have internet but no phone in the main room. Skype will have to do (but we can use the phone in the HCIL space if needed)
For breakout sessions I reserved the HCIL lab space + room 4115, all day Friday and Saturday morning.

travel
People should plan to travel to the meeting on December 13, with travel home the afternoon of the 15th.
National/Reagan is the way to go. BWI is your second choice. Don't do Dulles.
National is on the Metro (light rail) system. Both the Yellow and Blue lines stop there. Either will get you up to College Park, but most direct is to take the Yellow to Fort Totten, then
transfer to a Green line train to College Park. This will take 45 minutes to an hour depending on time of day and cost about $3.50-4.00 (again, depending on time of day).
BWI means a taxi or shuttle down to College Park, 30 minutes to an hour
depending on traffic.

Hotels
here is the hotel information compiled for the TEI conference recently: http://www.lib.umd.edu/dcr/events/teiconference/hotels.html
Most convenient:
- UMUC Mariott Inn and Conference Center is new and nice and convenient but can be expensive (prices vary greatly depending on season/demand). You need a cab from metro, or figuring out 2 UMd shuttles.
- Quality Inn and Suites is even more convenient as you can walk from/to the metro station (probably 10 minutes), but a much lower grade hotel.
Starbucks near both hotels
If you need help with pickups/drop off let Catherine or Matt know.
