- Greg reported on progress setting up Wordpress on the Illinois server
- Matt proposed that the group use the delicious tag "monkproject"
- John reported on the possibility of collaborating with Thorny Stapes' group at Virgina on a FEDORA-based collection environment; could involve a June proposal to Mellon; Matt asked about relation to NINES/Collex; John will keep us posted
- Stan: NoteMesh and NoteCenter
- John: Yahoo Pipes "gutenberg"; fetchData
- Joe: on Second Life, potential access point for MONK
- Matt: libraries and ebook publishing in SL; are there forms of text analysis that would be "native" to SL?
- what are the facilities to do data-driven things in SL? you can bring in Web services; are there 3-D viz widgets, for example?
- Joe: open AIM, developer.aim.com
- Matt proposed a short-list on Wiki of core applications for group to keep an eye on, John suggested people volunteer to become "experts" in or two so that we cultivate collective authority
Outcomes and Action Items
- we will use delicious and the specific tag "monkproject" to tag/flag resources of potential interest
- we will also maintain a short-list of key/core resources on the cell's Wiki page; in order to be promoted to the short-list, one or more people have to volunteer to assume expert status
